Mòjīng yìjiě 墨經易解

(‘A Simple Explanation of the Mòjīng’), Tán Jièfǔ’s 1935 study of the Mohist canons and explanations. Far more than a guide to a difficult text, the work presents the Mòjīng as a systematic body of logical, epistemological, and scientific theory. Tán repeatedly compares Mohist argument structures with both Buddhist yīnmíng and Western logic, developing detailed correspondences between Mohist categories such as gù lǐ , and lèi  and the forms of inference recognised in other traditions. The book laid the foundations for Tán’s later efforts to recover Mòbiàn as an independent logical tradition.
